Corporate Board
The Corporate Board at the W. P. Carey School of Business connects sales professionals to our top sales students, including our Sales Scholars and members of ProSales Club. The collaboration among board members, faculty, and students promotes the mission of the Department of Marketing in shaping W. P. Carey business students into world-class sales talent.
Why professional sales
With your partnership and involvement, our students will become even more passionate about the dynamic field of sales. Research shows that students who participate in a university sales program are more likely to remain committed to their companies, ramp up faster, and achieve their performance goals more quickly. Specifically, graduates of sales programs:
- Reduce turnover — they are 33 percent less likely to leave their employer after one year
- Increase sales productivity — students ramp up 50 percent faster, achieve their quotas, and provide consistent sales results
- Are more prepared — save approximately $220,000 per hire within the first 18 months of employment due to sales experience
Board engagement
Board members share sales industry expertise and advise the department on sales curriculum and student professional development. In addition, board members engage with our students through board meetings, lead sales-related workshops, and participate in student sales competitions. The board also provides financial support to the department, and aids in departmental fundraising efforts designed to support program, faculty, and student development.
