Industry partners
Through industry partnerships the Department of Finance is better able to closely follow issues that are current and prominent for industry practice.
We are interested in what practitioners do, why they do it, how they think about it from their perspective and how we can use that information to make a difference.
Practitioners have an interest in partnering with ASU and the Department of Finance because we are developing new models to simplify complex and difficult business problems based on solid scientific foundations. We do large-sample empirical studies for factual basis for discussion, understanding and shaping business practices.
We are pleased to work closely with our partners, to gain from their insight and expertise and to collaborate on academic and business solutions.
Our partners include:
- Finance Advisory Board
- Association for Corporate Growth (ACG)
- National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD)
Association for Corporate Growth
Founded in 1954, the Association for Corporate Growth is the premier global association for professionals involved in corporate growth, corporate development, and mergers and acquisitions. ACG has more than 10,000 members from corporations and private equity, finance and professional service firms representing Fortune 500, Fortune1000, FTSE 100 and mid-market companies in 53 chapters in North America and Europe. Leaders of the ACG member firms are focused on building value in their organizations. They recognize the multiple benefits of networking within an influential community of executives growing public and private companies worldwide.
National Association of Corporate Directors
Founded in 1977, the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) is a national nonprofit membership organization dedicated exclusively to serving the corporate governance needs of corporate boards and individual board members. NACD's 17,500 members and customers represent companies ranging from Fortune 100 public companies to small, over-the-counter, closely held and private firms.
NACD and its Arizona Chapter promote high professional board standards, create forums for peer interaction, enhance director effectiveness, communicate and monitor the policy interests of directors, conduct benchmarking research and educate boards and directors concerning traditional and cutting-edge issues.
NACD accepts both individual and full board membership. Associate membership is available to professional services organizations -- such as legal practices, audit firms and compensation consultants -- that provide essential board guidance and advisory services.
Membership benefits include continuing director education, benchmarking research in numerous board and committee practices, thought leadership publications, practical handbooks for committees and boards, 24/7 ExpresSource information hotline, director search services, and other key resources for directors and boards.
With almost three decades of corporate governance research and experience to draw from, NACD provides a seasoned, authoritative voice on corporate governance policy and practice. NACD also is a vital forum for peer interaction and exchange of best board practices.
The Arizona Chapter meetings provide timely topics and interactive sessions with knowledgeable leaders from the business community to help make you an active, valuable contributor to your board. If you sit on a board, advise a board, work with a board or are a candidate to join a board, here is an opportunity to enhance your skills.
